Making the Most Out of Holidays
If there is one thing people love, it is a unique and possibly romantic holiday. Who wouldn’t love going on and on about a sunset river tour on Valentine’s Day when their best friend only got flowers? There is money to be made from this passive aggressive display for people willing to make it. The best part is there are holidays throughout the entire year you can take advantage of. From Valentines Day to Christmas, a little decorating and advertising can make the holidays both fun and profitable for you. If you already have purchased your own catamaran or pontoon boat then you are already heading in the right direction.
So what are some ways to make the most out of the holidays? Below are just some of the things you can capitalize on with your catamaran.
Valentines Day: There are many things that really make a couple fall in love all over again. Flowers, romantic lighting, soft music, and to top it off the view of a beautiful sunset. Decorate your craft in romantic hues, fill the air with the scent of fresh flowers, set the mood with soft lighting, and cruise the open waters with soft music. It can be a romantic love song or just a smooth jazz instrumental.
Depending on the size of your craft you can take either one couple, or a small group off to a wide open area in a river or lake to watch the sun set. Keep the group small so each couple has plenty of room. There is nothing romantic about being elbow to elbow with strangers.
Halloween: When it comes to the haunted holiday, you can go small or go all out. Decorate in autumn and Halloween styled decorations including ghosts and witches. Dress up a little and let any passengers dress up as well. From there you can play some spooky music and do your normal tour, or go a little beyond and do a nighttime tour.
If you really want to get into the spirit, you can ask for volunteers to dress up and create a small haunted boat ride. Drift close to the shore and let people jump out or do scenes for the people on the tour. You may have to spend some money on lights and props, but if done right, you could earn a lot more back. What makes this a great holiday to take advantage of it can be done all month long. October is known for Halloween, so you could open a haunted boat ride or just Halloween themed tours through the entire month.
Christmas: Grocery stores love to put Christmas music on repeat and decorate their stores lightly, so why shouldn’t you? Put some Christmas music on your catamaran, sell some hot chocolate, and spread good cheer.
For a small business venture, look at storytelling on the boat. Parents can bring their children to listen to a story and drink hot chocolate while enjoying a peaceful river ride. With all the stories about Santa Claus, Frosty the Snowman, and Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, you have plenty of material to keep them entertained with.
Anniversaries, Birthdays, etc: Don’t be shy to offer special tours for personal holidays. A romantic sunset tour is the perfect gift for an anniversary as well as Valentines day. Give a child a Captain’s Hat on his birthday and do a personalize or private boat tour for his friends and family.
If you are not making the most out of the holidays, maybe it is time to get started. Look at purchasing a quality pontoon boat or catamaran from Fiesta Marine and become an entrepreneur with your new vessel. Just don’t forget to give her a catchy name.
